Hump Day Quickies

*I made it through 15 minutes of the Republican debate tonight before the bile rose in the back of my throat.

From what I could gather, the greatest threat our country faces isn't terrorist following us from "over there" to "here" but illegal immigrants. I'm not saying the GOP is basing their party platform on a Simpsons Episode, but I'm not not saying it either.

If you want a better rundown, check out Salon's archived liveblogging of the racist, hatemongering, warmongering, lame-jokefest GOP Debate.

*And, as always, Glen Greenwald does a far better job of mocking the GOP's alleged He-Man image on Salon. (Yes, I know after making my morning updates to, you know, actually include links to what I'm talking about, it looks like I'm practically shilling for Salon.)

*The Dawgs looked great this weekend, which was a really but also added to my bittersweet mood for the weekend. Thanks to the new job paying far far far better wages than my job last year, I could afford a ticket. However, I had to attend a wedding Saturday, which meant no kickoff, and the rest of the weekend was a bittersweet farewell to a buddy who is now across the pond in the UK.
